Mock Draft Friday: Corey Lemonier To Colts At No. 24 Is Intriguing

Three mocks that either make us nod in approval, scratch our beards in quiet contemplation, or provoke us flip a table screaming "WTF!"

Kevin C. Cox

We are a little less than four weeks away from the start of the 2013 NFL Draft.

I'm stooooooooopid excited!!!

Pass rusher and wide receiver remain the biggest needs going in. In fact, they're so important that the whole "best player available" thing just doesn't cut it when looking at the No. 24 pick.

That said, here are the mocks that we either like, bewilder us, or make us curse loudly in public places with small children present.

Accurate Mock

Mocking the Draft- SB Nation

Damontre Moore, OLB, Texas A&M
The Colts were active in free agency, filling a ton of needs and spending all of Jim Irsay’s money. While Indianapolis signed a rush linebacker, the team could use another talent at that spot. Damontre Moore falls in this version of the mock draft, which is a nice value for the Colts.

My Comment: Moore makes sense from both a need and a "best player available" standpoint in this mock. Dan Kadar passes on Clemson's DeAndre Hopkins and UCLA's Datone Jones.

Interesting Mock

National Football Post

Corey Lemonier, OLB, Auburn
After a shockingly productive first season playing a 34 defense, the Colts need to find an explosive edge rusher to play opposite OLB Robert Mathis. Lemonier has rare first step explosiveness off the ball to threaten the corner and the natural pass rush skills to defeat OT inside or out.

My comment: Hmmmmm... I'll admit I know next to nothing about Lemonier, and if any of you Auburn or SEC fanatics out there can educate me, I'd appreciate it. What I do know is Auburn was terrible last year, and his 5.5 sacks in 2012 do not impress me. In fact, 5 of his 5.5 sacks came in the month of September. After that, Lemonier didn't seem to do much.

Amazing 'WTF?' Mock

CBS Sports- Pete Prisco

Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Reggie Wayne isn't a kid anymore. They need help.

My comment: Patterson to the Colts? Prisco's got Indy taking him over DeAndre Hopkins and Keenan Allen. If you're making a face right now, it's OK. I am too.
