The prospect of drafting Clemson wide receiver may be dim, but that doesn't mean there are other fish in the sea for Colts G.M. Ryan Grigson to reel in this week.
Per a report from have shown interest in Charleston Southern wide receiver Mike Davis
Davis is a small wideout, measuring 5'8, 188 lb. He's best suited as a slot receiver, which makes it a bit odd that Indianapolis is showing interest in him. T.Y. Hilton and LaVon Brazill - both were drafted last year - are ideal slot receivers.
However, what makes Davis a fascinating prospect is that he also played running back at Charleston Southern. In 21 games over two seasons, he had 52 rushes for 251 yards and and a touchdown. As a receiver, he had 27 catches for 279 yards and two scores.
Interesting note: Davis is related to Panthers head coach Ron Rivera. It's also worth noting that Davis is a player that Shaun DePasquale seems to rate rather highly.
Again, Davis seems a rather curious prospect. I wonder how he'd do playing special teams as a returner.
