2013 NFL Draft: Eagles Move Up An Take QB Matt Barkely With 98th Pick

The Philadelphia Eagles opted to pass on USC quarterback Matt Barkley in rounds 1-3. However, with Barkley still sitting there at the top of the 4th round of the 2913 NFL Draft, Eagles G.M. Howie Roseman decided it was worth trading up with the Jacksonville Jaguars, sending them Philly's 101st and 210th overall picks in exchange for the No. 98 pick.

The Eagles then used that 98th pick on Barkley.

Barkley's fall throughout the draft has been painful to watch. Viewed as a sure first rounder at the beginning of the college football season, Barkley's stock has sunk like a rock. He was mocked by some as possibly a second day pick.

It's worth seeing how Barkley will grow within the Eagles organization under new coach Chip Kelly. Also, how will this affect current starting quarterback Michael Vick and his back-up, 2011 second round select Nick Foles? Can the Eagles keep Vick, Barkley, and Foles? Unlikely.

All makes for great drama.
