This is something I have been thinking about recently, because I read every day that almost all the teams are working up prospects, especially those players who are expected to go in the first round.
However, I have not read anything about the Colts working up prospects who are expected to go in the first round. I read somewhere that they have met with guys like Duke Williams or Tyrone Goard, but neither of these prospects are expected to go in the first round. In fact, the team meetings page in Walterfootball has the Colts meeting with only mid to late round players, with the exception of Lane Johnson, who, by the way, is totally out in the conversation of the players we will select at No. 24.
Why aren´t we meeting with players expected to go in the first round? Could this be an indication that Grigson is looking to trade down and collect more picks? Is it for strategy? Does Grigson want to know which players are going to be available at No. 24 after all the teams ahead of us in the draft order meet with the players that they expecto to draft?
What do you think?
