The Indianapolis Colts continue to host and workout prospects in preparation for the 2013 NFL Draft. Per Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun and NFL for FOX, the Colts are visiting with LSU running back Spencer Ware.
Ware was part of a very crowded backfield at LSU. His best season in Baton Rouge was 2011 when he rushed for 707 yards and 8 touchdowns. Ware did not run the 40-yard dash at LSU's Pro Day due to a left hamstring injury. He did not work out at the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine either.
It's possible the visit to Indianapolis is for the Colts to see how fast the 5'10, 215 lb Ware is. They also probably want to know if he's healthy enough to draft.
Ware projects as a 5th or 6th round selection in April.
National Football Post sees him as a Marion Barber-type player who "runs angry" and "breaks a ton of tackles." For a team like the Colts, who are moving towards a power running game under new offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, Ware seems like a good fit.
