On Tuesday, I speculated that the Colts could pursue recently released fullback Vonta Leach based on two factors:
- Chuck Pagano joked about the Colts wanting to sign Leach back in February, and
- The Colts are planning to utilize a fullback more in their offense in 2013
On Wednesday, ESPN's AFC South blogger Paul Kuharsky got some additional information on Leach, which he shared on Twitter:
Don't expect the #Colts to pursue FB Vonta Leach.

Note: That's not Kuharsky speculating. He's saying he has that from a very reliable source. Since Paul covers the entire AFC South for ESPN, you should believe him.
If you are craving reasons as to why the Colts would pass on Leach, here are a few:
- He'd be too expensive for a position that should be dirt cheap
- The team already traded for Stanley Havili
- Dan Moore has looked good in rookie minicamp and OTAs
- They're tight against the cap after signing Ahmad Bradshaw and 9 other veteran free agents this offseason
Leach has a visit scheduled today with the Dolphins, but is reportedly interested in returning to the Texans.
