Back in October of 2013, the Indianapolis Colts brought in former Chicago Bears seventh round pick Lance Louis for a tryout. Indy opted not to sign him then, but today they decided to sign him to a future contract. The 320 lbs guard was inked to a reserve-future deal.
Louis was drafted by the Bears in 2009. He played four seasons there. His 2012 season ended on IR after Vikings defensive end Jared Allen low-blocked his knee, a play then-Bears coach Lovie Smith described as "unnecessary," which is a coach-speak euphemism for "dirty."
Louis joined the Dolphins in 2013 , but he was a 53-man roster causality in August of 2013 and did not play in the NFL regular season last year.
