We're getting closer to kickoff from Indianapolis, and we now have the inactives for the Colts today for their wild card game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The game will kick off at 4:35 eastern time on NBC.
Inactives for the Colts:
CB Cassius Vaughn
CB Sheldon Price
TE Weslye Saunders
OLB Daniel Adongo
C/OG Khaled Holmes
OG Joe Reitz
DE Fili Moala
My take on the inactives:
- Nothing too surprising overall. The most surprising one was Joe Reitz, and while it does surprise me and I strongly disagree with it, I won't call it a major surprise.
- Speaking of Reitz, I don't get why he is inactive. That suggests that the Colts feel more comfortable with Mike McGlynn, Hugh Thornton, Jeff Linkenbach, and Xavier Nixon all more than they do Reitz? Really? I know that fans have fallen in love with Nixon (for whatever reason), but I'd take Reitz over McGlynn (who should be active though due to his versatility at center), Thornton, and Nixon - and I'd say he's about equal to Linkenbach. The starting offensive line today will be Anthony Castonzo at left tackle, Hugh Thornton at left guard, Samson Satele at center, Mike McGlynn at right guard, and Gosder Cherilus at right tackle. That's hardly the best combination for the Colts.
- Fili Moala was the only player who was not a healthy scratch. Moala was listed as questionable with a knee injury, and he won't play. The other player listed as questionable for the Colts, Aubrayo Franklin, is active today.
Here are the Chiefs inactives:
QB Tyler Bray
LB Dezman Moses
C Eric Kush
OL Rokevious Watkins
OT Eric Fisher
TE Richard Gordon
DT Jerrell Powe
