It hasn't been a great day for the Colts considering the news that Ahmad Bradshaw is likely done for the year with a broken ankle, but here is a bit of very good news for Indy: tight end Dwayne Allen said today that his ankle injury is just a low sprain and that he hopes to play this Sunday against the Jaguars.

Allen was injured in last night's loss in the second quarter, when his ankle was rolled up on from behind. He got up slowly and went off to the sideline, where he proceeded to attempt to walk it off. Shortly before halftime, however, he was carted to the locker room and the Colts then downgraded him to out for the game. Afterward, Allen was seen in the locker room with a boot on his foot, which wasn't a great sign. This morning, conflicting reports emerged regarding the severity of the ankle sprain, but Allen himself said this afternoon that it's a minor one and he also has hopes of playing this Sunday.
While I'd be cautious about actually playing him and while I'm not sure whether or not he actually will play, it's certainly great news for the Colts that one of their most important players isn't seriously injured. They've likely lost Bradshaw and losing Allen would make it even worse - but it seems as if Allen and the Colts have dodged a major bullet.
On the season, Allen has caught 26 passes for 374 yards and 7 touchdowns, along with providing terrific blocking from the tight end spot. He's a very versatile player and one of the biggest x-factors the Colts offense has. The injury news regarding the tight end this afternoon is positive and it's a huge sigh of relief for many anxious Colts fans.
