2014 NFL Winning Stats Predictor Picks: Week 9

New, comments

First bad week Against the Spread for the Predictor last week. Hopefully it has a good bounce-back week this week with a few less games on the docket.

Joe Robbins

It was bound to happen eventually, and last week was the first time we had a bad week picking Against the Spread, going just 5-10, bringing our season total down to 68-53 (56%). It's actually pretty good it took that long to have a bad week. But because we're in this for the long haul, just a blip on the radar and we don't change what we're doing. Picking Straight Up had much better results, going 11-4, bringing our season total up to 79-41 (64%). Ideally I'd like this at getting two out of every three games right, so we're almost there.

Here are your picks for Week 9:

Home Score Away Score Probability
Panthers 27 Saints 28 51.8%
Browns 27 Buccaneers 20 67.3%
Chiefs 31 Jets 19 79.8%
Dolphins 22 Chargers 27 64.4%
Texans 20 Eagles 19 50.8%
Cowboys 25 Cardinals 24 50.2%
Bengals 23 Jaguars 15 70.9%
Vikings 16 Redskins 24 72.1%
49ers 33 Rams 22 76.6%
Seahawks 29 Raiders 26 56.3%
Patriots 29 Broncos 31 57.4%
Steelers 29 Ravens 28 51.7%
Giants 21 Colts 31 73.4%

SuperContest was an abysmal 1-4, and should have known things were going to be bad after watching the Lions butcher the end of their game, and somehow manage to still win. Season total now 23-17.

  • Panthers +2.5 vs. Saints (Already missed. Awesome)
  • Chiefs -9.5 vs. Jets
  • Chargers +2.5 at Dolphins
  • Patriots +3 vs. Broncos
  • Colts -3.5 at Giants

Survivor Pick: No sweating last week with the Chiefs, who routed the Rams. This week we're going to go with the Bengals at home against the Jaguars. They're a different team at home than on the road, and should easily handle the woeful Jaguars.
