It has been a much better performance in the first half this week than a week ago for the Colts. They lead the New York Giants 16-3 on the road on Monday Night Football, and they had plenty of chances to actually be up more.
The defense has played much like they did during the five-game win streak than last week against the Steelers, and they've held the Giants to just 1-for-9 on third downs. The pass rush has been better than a week ago (though still somewhat inconsistent), but they've still gotten to Eli Manning some. The run defense has been fantastic. And like expected, the coverage has been great for the Colts (helped out, of course, by a ton of Giants' drops).
Offensively, the Colts have had some struggles, but Andrew Luck has still thrown for 202 yards and a touchdown. The Colts have run 32 pass plays and 5 run plays in the first half - yes, you read that right: 32 pass plays and 5 run plays. I'd expect them to try to establish the run game more in the second half.
Adam Vinatieri is continuing his fantastic season, however, converting on all three of his field goal attempts tonight, including two from 48-yards out. Vinny is now a perfect 19-for-19 on the year and has made 25-consecutive field goals. As we already knew, he's money.
The Colts lead 16-3 at half, though it's been a pretty ugly and sloppy game overall tonight. Here's your open thread for the second half of the game.
