Colts Wednesday Injury Report: Dwayne Allen Unlikely to Play on Sunday

Here's your Colts Wednesday injury report.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

It's Christmas Eve, and while the Colts' players get Christmas day off, they took the practice field today to continue preparations for their game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in the regular season finale.  Though the Colts also practiced yesterday, they released their first injury report of the week today.  Let's take a look at it:

Did Not Practice:

Dwayne Allen, TE (knee)

Gosder Cherilus, T (groin)

Jerrell Freeman, LB (hamstring)

Björn Werner, LB (shoulder)

Limited Practice:

T.Y. Hilton, WR (hamstring)

Cory Redding, DE (knee)

Joe Reitz, G (ankle)

Hugh Thornton, G (knee)

Erik Walden, OLB (knee)

A few notes:

  • On his conference call with Titans media, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said that he's hopeful that wide receiver T.Y. Hilton will play this week, but that tight end Dwayne Allen likely won't play (per TitansInsider.com's Terry McCormick).  Hilton was limited in practice today while Allen didn't practice.  The tight end was described as day-to-day but there's really not much reason to play him and it's looking very much like he won't play in the regular season finale.  Getting Hilton back, however, would be huge.
  • Björn Werner was a new addition to the injury report with a shoulder injury, causing him to miss practice today.  That's something to keep an eye on.
  • Joe Reitz and Hugh Thornton both were limited today, but they returned to practice after each missing a couple of weeks.  That's good news for the offensive line in terms of depth if they could be ready to go.  Of course, they were only limited, but it's still an encouraging sign.
