It's New Years Eve, but the Indianapolis Colts were on the practice field today to prepare for their Wild Card playoff matchup this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals. Of course, it's also important to look at the injury situations for the Colts to get a better idea of who will or will not play this weekend, and today the Colts put out their first injury report of the week. The full practice report is below, with some notes to follow:
Did Not Practice:
Josh Cribbs, RS (rest)
Hugh Thornton, OL (shoulder)
A.Q. Shipley, OL (ankle)
Limited Practice:
Gosder Cherilus, OL (groin)
Erik Walden, OLB (knee)
Reggie Wayne, WR (groin)
Bjoern Werner, OLB (shoulder)
Full Practice:
Dwayne Allen, TE (knee)
Jerrell Freeman, LB (hamstring)
Joe Reitz, OL (ankle)
A few notes:
- It's great to see Dwayne Allen, Jerrell Freeman, and Joe Reitz back at practice today. Allen and Freeman both missed last week with injuries, but it's an encouraging sign that they could be ready to go this weekend. Joe Reitz has missed several weeks, but he was a full participant today and I think there's a real chance he could be starting along the line on Sunday (presumably at right guard).
- Hugh Thornton was described as "week-to-week" earlier this week by Chuck Pagano, so I would be surprised if he's available to play. A.Q. Shipley is "day-to-day," so we'll keep a close eye on his progress this week in practice.
- Gosder Cherilus has missed the last two weeks with a groin injury and today he was limited, as he was working some with the trainers.
- Reggie Wayne was limited today with a groin injury as well, but it's pretty clear that he's going to play on Sunday.
