If you like crappy offensive football, you've come to the right place, because the first half of the game between the Colts and the Browns certainly featured a lot of that. The Colts racked up just 117 yards and 7 points in the first 30 minutes of the game - this the league's number one offense in terms of points per game and yards per game, too.
Andrew Luck was off. The offensive line was offensive. The Colts' wide receivers combined for just two catches for eleven yards in the first half. Trent Richardson was Trent Richardson. Luck completed just 9 of 22 passes for 86 yards in the first half, but he was the team's leading rusher, adding 24 yards and a big touchdown run.
The Browns offense, meanwhile, couldn't really take advantage of the Colts' offensive miscues. Brian Hoyer misfired on several passes and the only time the Browns really got anything going offensively was right before the half, following Indy's lone score of the half.
We knew coming in that the Browns have one of the league's best pass defenses. But the Colts' receivers are getting absolutely shut down and the offense can't get anything going. They'll need to make some adjustments at halftime, and I think it's safe to say that the second half will be a better overall game than the first half. If for no other reason than it's hard to get much worse.
Here's your open thread for the second half of today's game between the Colts and the Browns.
