Colts roster notebook: Team in early contract talks with CB Vontae Davis

The Colts have made some roster moves recently and are hoping to retain one player on their roster before he heads into unrestricted free agency:

• The Colts are in early contract talks with pending unrestricted free agent corner Vontae Davis, per Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star. Holder makes is a point to state that fans should not expect anything concrete soon. However, the key date here is March 11th. the Colts must either sign or tag David by then lest he become an unrestricted free agent. March 11th is less than 3 weeks away.
• Running back Tashard Choice has been released. I know that's an absolute shock to everyone.
• The Colts have waived defensive end Jake McDonough as well. I didn't even know this dude was on the team.
