Reggie Wayne Won't Play Thursday

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said this morning that wide receiver Reggie Wayne won't play in this Thursday night's preseason game against the Jets.

The Colts actually play a game in two days!!!

It's an exciting time in Indianapolis right now, with the season about to begin, and Colts head coach Chuck Pagano talked about who wouldn't play on Thursday, giving only one name at this point: wide receiver Reggie Wayne.

Pagano also talked about the importance of getting the offense playing time together this preseason:

"They need to play and we'll sit down in the next couple of days and talk about play time, how many snaps everybody gets and who's going to play, who's not going to play, those types of things but to answer your question, they do have to play. I think we know, obviously, a little more about our tackles then we do the interior so it would probably be a fair statement to say that those guys will probably get a little bit more time than the outside guys."

It's no surprise at all that Reggie Wayne won't play on Thursday, but Pagano made it clear that he will play at least some in the preseason, though he doesn't know how much.  Reggie himself said last week that he didn't want his first action to be in week one, and Pagano said today that it won't be.

Coming off of a torn ACL, it's impressive that Reggie's back and looking good.  The fact that he won't play Thursday is no surprise, but now we know for sure from Pagano that he won't.  Don't worry, however, Colts fans - Reggie is back, and Reggie looks like Reggie.  We'll just have to wait at least one more week before we actually see him in a game again.
