Colts Friday Injury Report: Khaled Holmes Officially Questionable for Sunday

Here's Friday's Colts injury report.

Elsa

The Friday injury report is the one that really matters, as that's the last official list we'll get on what the status of certain players' is for the weekend games.  The Colts released their injury report for Friday (asterik indicates a new player to the injury report today):

OUT:

Joe Reitz, G (ankle) - did not practice

QUESTIONABLE:

Sergio Brown, FS (shoulder) - did not practice

Khaled Holmes, C/G (ankle) - did not practice

Erik Walden, OLB (abdomen) - limited practice

PROBABLE:

Jonotthan Harrison, C (hand) - full practice

Reggie Wayne, WR (rest) - full practice

LaRon Landry, S (rest) - full practice

Gosder Cherilus, OL (rest) - limited practice *

A few thoughts...

  • No surprise that Joe Reitz is out - we knew that was coming.
  • The most notable player on this list as questionable is Khaled Holmes.  He practiced Wednesday and Thursday this week but didn't today.  While it's an encouraging sign that he returned to practice and that shows that he's close to being ready, but I'm not sure about Sunday.  If I had to guess, I'd say he won't start.  And while I think I might start Jonotthan Harrison if healthy, I think the most likely option to actually start at center Sunday night for the Colts is A.Q. Shipley.
  • If Erik Walden can't go, Jonathan Newsome is listed as his backup on the depth chart - and he might be able to help in the area of pass rush, but also I'd expect Cam Johnson and Andy Studebaker to both see playing time there too.
  • The biggest impact of Sergio Brown being questionable is for the special teams unit, as he's a top gunner.  Pat McAfee and the punt unit will certainly miss him, but he's the only one of the three questionable guys who's not a starter on either the offense or defense.
  • Everybody else seems ready to go.  Yes, and Reggie Wayne will be a full go with no limitations.
