Your regular fantasy football leagues are over, but that doesn't mean your fantasy football season has to end. We've been partnering with FanDuel this season, and they're still going strong when it comes to fantasy football. They offer a weekly game, so you pick your team each week based on the players you think will do the best. There's a salary cap, however, so you can't just load up on all of the best talent. To prepare for Wild Card weekend, let's take a look at where FanDuel ranks the Colts players this week:
Andrew Luck, 1st overall QB, $9,700 value
Of the eight quarterbacks playing this weekend, Andrew Luck is the highest valued of them all according to FanDuel, and that makes perfect sense. He threw for 4,761 yards and 40 touchdowns in the regular season and was a top fantasy option. The expectation is that it will continue in the postseason, and that's what makes Luck the top valued quarterback this week.
Daniel Herron, 11th overall RB, $5,400 value
Zurlon Tipton, 14th overall RB, $5,000 value
Trent Richardson, 36th overall RB, $4,500 value
Simply put, Boom Herron is the only Colts running back I'd even consider playing this weekend. The value there is good with him, but even then, the Colts aren't a running team and they won't become one this Sunday. What I find amazing is that Zurlon Tipton is ranked so far ahead of Trent Richardson this week - and in fact, Richardson is the lowest valued running back in FanDuel this week. The lowest. Considering that in the postseason last year he saw just four carries in two games and that this year it seems the Colts have been minimizing his role recently, this isn't a surprise, but it's still a reminder of how terrible he has been.
T.Y. Hilton, 4th overall WR, $8,600 value
Reggie Wayne, 17th overall WR, $5,500 value
Hakeem Nicks, 18th overall WR, $5,400 value
Donte Moncrief, 20th overall WR, $5,200 value
When it comes to the wide receiver position for the Colts this week in FanDuel, there's T.Y. Hilton and then there's everyone else. Hilton is ranked fourth overall while Reggie Wayne, Hakeem Nicks, and Donte Moncrief occupy three of four spots from 17-20. And it's pretty clear that Hilton is the clear-cut best option from Indy this week at the spot, though some of the other receivers could be good value picks if you need one.
Coby Fleener, 2nd overall TE, $5,500 value
Dwayne Allen, 5th overall TE, $5,000 value
The Colts have two of the top five tight ends in FanDuel this week, and for good reason - with both catching eight touchdowns in the regular season, they're intriguing options because they score quite a bit. Fleener is the safer option at the position, as he clearly gets more catches and yards, but Allen scores enough to make him a worthwhile option to play also.
Adam Vinatieri, 2nd overall K, $4,900 value
Vinatieri hit on 30 of 31 kicks in the regular season, including on 10 of 11 from 40+ yards out. He'll be playing indoors this Sunday on a team that will put up some points. He's always a great kicker option.
Colts defense, 7th overall defense, $4,800 value
There are eight teams playing this weekend, and the Colts are ranked as the seventh defense in FanDuel. The only one lower? The Bengals, who are going up against Andrew Luck and Indy's offense. The Colts' defense looked great earlier in the season against the Bengals in shutting them out, so they have shown they could have some value, but this week's game won't be the same story as that time and I don't recommend playing their defense in fantasy this week.
Editor's Note: FanDuel is hosting a $1,000 fantasy football league for SBNation for the Wildcard round. It's $5 to join and first place wins $100. League starts Saturday 4:30 PM ET. Here's the link.
