The biggest game of the NFL season is almost here, as Super Bowl XLIX (49) will be played this weekend in Arizona featuring the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks and the AFC Champion New England Patriots.
The Seahawks won the NFC West division with a 12-4 record, earning the top overall seed in the NFC playoffs. They defeated the Carolina Panthers in the Divisional Round and the Green Bay Packers in overtime in the NFC Championship game to advance to this game. The Patriots also finished the regular season 12-4, winning the AFC East and the top overall seed in the AFC playoffs. They defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round and the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game to reach the Super Bowl.
This game will feature the top two seeds in the playoffs for the second year in a row, as the Seahawks look to win their second straight Super Bowl against the last team to accomplish that feat, the Patriots, who did so more than a decade ago.
