It's official. With the Colts defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 26-10 in the Wild Card games from Indianapolis, they will travel to Denver next weekend to face the Broncos and Peyton Manning.
The game will be on CBS at 4:40 p.m. eastern time next Sunday afternoon, marking the fourth and final one of the Divisional round games. And there will be plenty of hype going into it, for sure, with the greatest player in Colts franchise history facing his former Colts team for the right to go to the AFC Championship game. Storylines will abound.
Also next weekend, the Baltimore Ravens will take on the New England Patriots. There's a real chance that the Ravens could win that game, and there's also a legitimate chance that the Colts could knock off the Broncos. Of course, Indy won't be favored in that game, but don't count the Colts out. In week one, Indy went to Denver, played terrible for a half, and still lost by only seven.
With Andrew Luck at quarterback, you can never rule the Colts out. He had his best performance of the season on Sunday against the Bengals, completing 31 of 44 passes for 376 yards and a touchdown without a turnover and with a number of drops and penalties negating potentially big plays.
Next Sunday, it'll be Andrew Luck and the Colts versus Peyton Manning and the Broncos. Talk about drama.
