By now you know it already: the Indianapolis Colts, with their win today, will travel to Denver to take on the Broncos in next Sunday's Divisional Round game. And the Broncos opened as touchdown favorites over the Colts (and already since it has opened, the Broncos are up to eight point favorites instead of seven points, per OddsShark.com). The over/under for the game is set at 53 - and, since the two teams combined to score 55 points in week one (and 72 last season), that seems like a pretty fair mark.
Peyton Manning and the Broncos went 12-4 in the regular season and earned the number two overall seed in the AFC. Andrew Luck and the Colts went 11-5 and earned the number four overall seed. The Broncos are 8-0 at home this season, while the Colts are 5-3 on the road. This will also mark the third edition of "Luck vs. Manning," with the two teams having split with one win apiece in each of the first two matchups (with the home team winning each one).
If I were a betting man (I'm not, and that's probably for the best) and if I had to decide right now, I'd pick the Broncos to win but I'd take the points. Indy played terribly for an entire half and still only lost by seven in the season opener, and though it'll take a heck of a game from the squad, I think the Colts could certainly give Denver all the Broncos can handle. What are your early thoughts on next Sunday's game?
