The Indianapolis Colts continued preparation today for their huge game on Sunday Night Football against the New England Patriots this weekend, returning to the practice field.  Of course, the injury situation has been a key storyline to watch, and the same is true this week, especially regarding the status of quarterback Andrew Luck.

Let's take a look at the full practice report for the Colts today, followed by some comments:

Did Not Practice:

Bjoern Werner, OLB (hamstring)

D'Qwell Jackson, ILB (rest)

Limited Practice:

Trent Cole, OLB (back)

Nate Irving, ILB (knee)

Andrew Luck, QB (shoulder)

Jerrell Freeman, ILB (groin)

T.Y. Hilton, WR (groin)

Billy Winn, DL (eye)

Full Practice:

Robert Mathis, OLB (rest Wednesday)

Andre Johnson, WR (rest Wednesday)

The most notable name on the injury report is, of course, Andrew Luck, who was limited for the second straight day this week with a shoulder injury (the same shoulder injury that has kept him limited for the past few weeks).  His workload certainly seems to have increased, as he has thrown during the portion of practice open to the media in each of the past two days (which is an improvement), but he is still listed as limited.  I wonder whether the Colts would put him out there for a game if he hasn't gone through a full practice, so Friday could be key - but at the same time, he seems to have a pretty significant workload anyway even though he's limited.  This will definitely be a situation to keep an eye on, as the hope is that he will play this Sunday but it's nothing certain yet.

Another injury of note is that to Jerrell Freeman, who missed last Thursday's game against the Texans with a groin injury and missed practice yesterday.  He returned to the practice field for the first time with his injury today, as he was a limited participant.  Bjoern Werner, who last week was designated as week to week but who practiced in full yesterday, missed practice today, perhaps showing that he still could miss some time.

There were a couple of new additions to today's injury report.  D'Qwell Jackson received a rest day and did not practice, while wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (groin) and defensive lineman Billy Winn (eye) were both limited after not appearing on the practice report at all yesterday.
