We're getting closer and closer to kickoff tonight as the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots face off on Sunday Night Football from Lucas Oil Stadium, and the good news is that the Colts are pretty healthy heading into the game. That's especially good considering the fact that the Colts will need to play their best game of the season to even keep it close against the Patriots.
The biggest takeaway from the inactive list for the Colts are those players who are active, as quarterback Andrew Luck, inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman, and running back Ahmad Bradshaw are all active, meaning that they will very likely play.
Here's the full list of inactives for the Colts tonight:
Shaun Prater, CB
Josh Robinson, RB
Nate Irving, ILB (knee)
Lance Louis, OL
Denzelle Good, OL
Bjoern Werner, OLB (hamstring)
Zach Kerr, DL
Again, as mentioned earlier, the biggest news is in regards to those players who will actually play. Andrew Luck will make his return to the field after missing the past two games with a shoulder injury, while inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman, who like Luck was officially questionable for the game, will play as well. And then there's Ahmad Bradshaw, the dynamic playmaker who was signed earlier this week. He was fantastic with the Colts last year before getting injured, and now he's back. He knows the system and is in shape, so he could contribute despite being signed just this week. With rookie Josh Robinson inactive, that means the Colts will have Frank Gore, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Zurlon Tipton as their running backs tonight.
A couple of inactives to note include inside linebacker Nate Irving, who was questionable with a knee injury, and Bjoern Werner, who was probable with a hamstring injury but who was ruled "week to week" just a week ago. Those are the only two injured inactives, as far as we know, with the others coming as no big surprise but instead being players who are active in some games and inactive in others. Perhaps the biggest surprise could be considered Josh Robinson, but even that isn't too unexpected with the signing of Bradshaw. The Colts like Robinson (and for good reason), but he has struggled with fumbles.
From the Patriots' side of things, here are their inactives:
