The Indianapolis Colts returned to the practice field on Friday in preparation for this weekend's game, but unlike on a usual Friday, there's no official status report for the game yet. That's because the Colts are playing on Monday night this week, as most of you know, and that means that the Colts will have an extra day to prepare for the Carolina Panthers.
There wasn't much change in today's practice report from yesterday, with only one change taking place between the two injury reports. Here's today's practice report, followed by some comments.
Did Not Practice:
Phillip Dorsett, WR (ankle)
Winston Guy, S (shoulder)
Khaled Holmes, C (neck)
Nate Irving, ILB (knee)
Mike Adams, S (hamstring)
Clayton Geathers, S (knee)
The only change today was that safety Mike Adams, who was a limited participant in practice yesterday as he works his way back from a hamstring injury, was a full participant today. Head coach Chuck Pagano said that he will play on Monday, so there's no real doubt there.
The most notable injury that we are keeping an eye on is that of center Khaled Holmes, who has started every game for the Colts so far this year but left Sunday's game with a burner. He hasn't practiced yet this week, so it's very uncertain whether he will be able to go on Monday. If he can't play, that will leave the Colts thin at center, as Jonotthan Harrison would start but be the only official center on the roster. Jack Mewhort, the team's starting left guard, would likely be the next in line to play at center if something would happen to Harrison during the game. At this point, though, Holmes hasn't officially been ruled out, but he hasn't practiced yet. He hasn't played well this year so there might not be much of a dropoff in play if he can't go, but it's still better to have depth at the position than none at all.
