The next two weeks feature two crucial AFC South matchups for the Indianapolis Colts, but they could be without several key players for this Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Safety Colt Anderson, left tackle Anthony Castonzo, inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman, quarterback Andrew Luck, and center Khaled Holmes are all considered week to week, very likely meaning that they will be out this Sunday. Furthermore, the status of outside linebacker Erik Walden, cornerback Greg Toler, inside linebacker D'Qwell Jackson, and wide receiver Griff Whalen is also up in the air.
Here's the Colts' practice report from Thursday, followed by some notes:
Did Not Practice:
Colt Anderson, S (ankle)
Anthony Castonzo, LT (knee)
Jerrell Freeman (hamstring/ribs)
Khaled Holmes, C (fibula)
Andrew Luck, QB (abdomen/kidney)
Erik Walden, OLB (foot)
Griff Whalen, WR (hamstring)
Greg Toler, CB (knee)
Limited Practice:
D'Qwell Jackson, ILB (quad)
Full Practice:
Phillip Dorsett, WR (ankle)
Matt Hasselbeck, QB (neck/back)
Hugh Thornton, OL (elbow)
The good news is that Matt Hasselbeck, Phillip Dorsett, and Hugh Thornton were full participants for the second straight day. It's very likely that Hassebeck and Thornton will be starting on Sunday, then, and Dorsett will be worked back into the offense after missing a lot of time with his injury.
Another positive sign is that D'Qwell Jackson was a limited participant in practice today after missing practice yesterday. That doesn't mean that he will play on Sunday, but hopefully that means he's heading in the right direction. Greg Toler, on the other hand, went from being limited yesterday to not practicing today, so that would figure to leave his status for Sunday's game in doubt as well. Furthermore, Erik Walden didn't practice for the second straight day, so his status is up in the air too.
