It's a weird week for the Indianapolis Colts this week because of Christmas Day falling on Friday, so the Colts moved up their practice schedule. They treated yesterday like a normal Wednesday and then treated today like a normal Thursday. Yesterday, however, the Colts just conducted a walk-through practice so there wasn't an official injury report to be released. So the first injury report of the week came today in advance of the team's game on Sunday in Miami against the Dolphins.
Here's the full injury report, followed by some comments.
Did Not Practice:
Colt Anderson, S (ankle)
Winston Guy, S (hamstring/shoulder)
Josh McNary, ILB (groin)
Donte Moncrief, WR (toe)
D'Joun Smith, CB (knee)
Limited Practice:
Jack Doyle, TE (toe)
Jerrell Freeman, ILB (hamstring)
Matt Hasselbeck, QB (back/ribs)
D'Qwell Jackson, ILB (quad)
Andrew Luck, QB (abdomen/kidney)
Erik Walden, OLB (foot)
Matt Hasselbeck was once again practicing today for the second straight day, though yesterday was a very light practice and today he was limited. But, with that said, Hasselbeck is expected to start on Sunday. Head coach Chuck Pagano said as much yesterday and today Hasselbeck confirmed that, saying that Pagano gave him an out if he was hurting too much but Hasselbeck wanted to play. He is very beat up, but he's expected to make his eighth start of the season this week. Andrew Luck will not play this week, as Pagano ruled him out on Monday.
The one real injury of note this week is to wide receiver Donte Moncrief, who was in a boot again today for the second straight week. He played this past Sunday and caught a touchdown despite not practicing at all last week, and he was again a did not practice today. We'll have to see if he can play once again despite the injury.
