It's back to primetime for the Indianapolis Colts this weekend, as they head to Pittsburgh for a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Steelers to open December.
The Colts and Steelers are both 6-5 this season and fighting for a playoff spot, though through different means. The Colts are atop the AFC South by a half of a game, so they are still looking to get into the postseason due to winning their division. The Steelers, on the other hand, are several games behind the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North, so they are fighting for a wild card spot. There's actually a very realistic scenario in which the Colts would host the Steelers in the wild card round of the playoffs, though that's very far from a certainty.
The Colts will once again be playing without franchise quarterback Andrew Luck as he continues to work his way back from a kidney and abdominal injury, but in his place Matt Hasselbeck has done a good job and has helped the Colts to a 4-0 record. That perfect record will be severely tested this week, as the Steelers are a tough test whenever Ben Roethlisberger is playing (and he will this Sunday). Things didn't work out too well for the Colts last year against the Steelers (to the tune of allowing 51 total points and 522 yards and six touchdowns through the air), so they'll be looking to show noticeable improvement this time around, with the game being on primetime TV.
