Super Bowl XLIX Final Score: New England Patriots 28, Seattle Seahawks 24

In an instant classic, the New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 to win Super Bowl XLIX - aided by perhaps the stupidest play call in NFL history.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The 2014-15 season is now officially over, as the New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 in a classic game tonight in Super Bowl XLIX.

Of course, the story of what was a great game was the ending.  And that ending was that the Seahawks called what was quite possibly the stupidest play call in the history of the NFL.  Down just four at the one yard line with under a minute left and with the Patriots letting the clock run instead of taking a timeout and with one of the best and toughest running backs in football, the Seahawks threw the football.  Seriously, THEY CALLED A FREAKING PASS PLAY.  It was intercepted and the Patriots won - after the Seahawks embarrassed themselves even more by getting into a fight and showing no class.

Tom Brady was deservedly the MVP of the game, as he completed 37 of 50 passes for 328 yards and four touchdowns with two picks.  It was the best Super Bowl game that he has played and not close, as he completely took over the game in the fourth quarter.  As much as it pains me, a Colts fan, to say this, Brady was fantastic tonight, especially in the fourth quarter.

Ultimately, the New England Patriots are the 2015 Super Bowl champions, so congrats to them I guess on what was a great season.  For Seattle?  It was a good season and a good game tonight that was all undone by a completely idiodic play call.

Oh, and hey Marshawn Lynch, if you want to come to Indy to play, I'm sure they'll be willing to give you the football in that situation - even with Andrew Luck at quarterback.  Just a heads up.

So congrats to the Patriots on winning Super Bowl XLIX - unfortunately.
