Super Bowl 2015: Several Colts Players React to Seahawks' Stupid Play Call

Several Colts players took to twitter to react after the Seahawks' utterly stupid play call cost them the Super Bowl.

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

It's safe to say that after the Patriots' 28-24 victory over the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX, the biggest storyline from the game was the awful call by Seattle that lost them the game and the shot at a second straight Lombardi Trophy.

With under a minute left and facing second and goal from the one yard line, the Seahawks were down four but were set up perfectly.  For some stunning reason, Bill Belichick wasn't using his timeouts, and it really looked like Seattle would win.  With one of the best running backs in all of football and certainly one of the toughest, everybody knew the Seahawks were going to run the football - especially since they had a timeout.  A throw could not only stop the clock but could also be intercepted.

Unbelievably and inexplicably, the Seahawks threw it.  Intercepted.  Patriots win.  It was certainly the worst play call I've ever seen, and I'm not alone in thinking that.  Here's what a number of current and former Colts had to say about the call on twitter tonight:

Punter Pat McAfee:

Offensive lineman Gosder Cherilus:

Linebacker Andy Studebaker:

Cornerback Sheldon Price:

Linebacker Erik Walden:

Cornerback Darius Butler:

Linebacker Jonathan Newsome:

Center Khaled Holmes:

Running back Vick Ballard:

Defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois:

Linebacker Henoc Muamba:

Safety Sergio Brown:

And some former Colts players weighed in too.

Former linebacker Gary Brackett:

Former linebacker Cato June:

Former running back Eric Dickerson:
