The NFL Combine is going on this week and the on field drills will begin tomorrow as coaches, scouts, general managers, and a number of other team executives and employees attempt to figure out more about the players they are interested in drafting.
The Combine brings with it a number of different drills, and the importance of each drill varies. Each event does serve a purpose, but it's important to keep in mind that none of them are a sure indication of success on the field. More important than the drills are the interviews and medical examinations that take place, and that is where teams gain the most valuable information. With that said, however, the numbers on the field at the Combine also serve a purpose for teams, and you'll be hearing a lot about those numbers over the next few days.
Because of that, I thought it'd be interesting to go back and look at the Combine numbers from the Colts' draft picks over the last three years (the Ryan Grigson era), plus a few other notable Colts players. All Combine data number is according to NFLCombineResults.com. There are some points of data that are unknown, and then if there is an asterisk by the number that means it was not an official combine number. This really doesn't mean much, but rather it's just a fun look at how some of the Colts draft picks and players did at the Combine.
