According to a number of reports today, including from the Lions' own beat writer Tim Twentyman, the Lions will not place the franchise tag on defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh. Detroit still seems like the most likely destination for the star lineman, who is set to become a free agent next week, but fans of every team with cap room are clamoring for their favorite team to sign Suh.
Colts punter Pat McAfee got in on the fun on twitter, of course, by sending Suh a nice picture of Indianapolis right now.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>.<a href="https://twitter.com/NdamukongSuh">@NdamukongSuh</a> Hey boss, I hope you have a fantastic Monday.. Just want to let you know what Indy looks like today <a href="http://t.co/WrE4kHvRzM">pic.twitter.com/WrE4kHvRzM</a></p>— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) <a href="https://twitter.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/572433240876834816">March 2, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Of course, for those of you in Indianapolis, all you have to do is look out the window and see a ton of snow, and step outside and you'd feel temperatures right around 32 degrees - which is actually warmer than it has been recently. The weather is definitely not a reason you'd come to Indy right about now - but that's exactly why McAfee choose that as his recruiting pitch to Suh, because it was meant to be a joke. It's funny. It's ok to laugh.
Many Colts fans aren't joking about wanting to sign the defensive lineman, however, and I'm sure McAfee and the rest of the Colts players would love to have the star lineman on the team as well. But, like we looked at not too long ago, it's very unlikely to be a move that actually happens. Not impossible, but unlikely.
But Colts fans can dream - just like those in Indy can dream about the weather actually being that nice.
