Indianapolis Colts 2015 Preseason Schedule Announced

The Indianapolis Colts have announced their schedule for the 2015 preseason.

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

The release of the 2015 NFL regular season schedule is expected to be within the next few weeks, but the league gave fans a small taste of that today by announcing the preseason schedule.

Here's the Colts' 2015 preseason schedule (with dates to be determined, but the date range in parenthesis):

at Philadelphia Eagles (August 13-17)

vs. Chicago Bears (August 20-24)

at St. Louis Rams (August 27-30)

vs. Cincinnati Bengals (September 3)

The national broadcast schedule was also announced, but it did not include any Colts games for the 2015 preseason - something that won't be true of the regular season.  You can catch the games locally, however, and then they will be on NFL Network at some point, if the network keeps the same tradition as in recent years.

Week one will be an interesting week, as it's the first chance to see the 2015 Colts on the field for the season, and it'll be the first game in a Colts uniform for several key free agents such as Frank Gore, Andre Johnson, Kendall Langford, Todd Herremans, and Trent Cole.  Herremans and Cole spent the first ten years of their careers with the Eagles, so it'll be a homecoming for them in their first game as Colts.

In week two, the Colts and the Bears play in what is a matchup of two teams with many fans in Indiana - and a rematch of Super Bowl XLI.  In week three, the starters will play the longest of any preseason game, so that's also a key one to note.  And then in week four, as has been the case for a number of years, the Colts and the Bengals will play in the most meaningless game of the season - a game in which many starters don't play at all.

But, hey, it's football, and by the time August rolls around we'll all be even more football starved than we already are.  So dwell on this preseason schedule for a week or two until the NFL announces the regular season schedule, and we just keep counting down the days until the Colts arrive at Anderson University later this summer for training camp and then to actual NFL action shortly thereafter.

For now, however, here's the preseason schedule, and then you can read up on the Colts' regular season opponentsas we await the release of when those games will actually take place.
