The first round of the 2015 NFL Draft is over, but that doesn't mean that mock drafts have ended! In fact, now that we know which 32 players were selected in the first round, we can get a better idea of what teams might be looking to do in the second and third rounds tonight.
Mocking the Draft's Dan Kadar released a second round mock draft this morning, and he has the Colts adding another offensive player by taking South Carolina guard A.J. Cann.
The Colts would be lucky to get Cann with this choice in the second round. He could come in at guard and second-year player Jack Mewhort could challenge for the right tackle spot.
Cann is a good player who at one point early in the draft process was getting a bit of late first round talk, but if this pick happened I don't think it would be a very positive one for Colts fans who already wanted defense in the first round.
With that said, however, the Colts showed in round one that they are looking to take the best player available, and if that player is Cann in the second round, it wouldn't be a bad pick. I think the Colts are inclined to keep Jack Mewhort at left guard for the time being, but that likely wouldn't deter them from making a pick of a guard.
The Colts will likely be targeting defense tonight in the draft, but that doesn't mean they won't take the best player available. What I will say, however, is this: with a number of good defensive prospects available in the second round, I think the Colts should consider trading up. FOX59's Mike Chappell said it best when he said that the roster doesn't need eight more picks, it needs a couple of legitimate prospects.
If they stay at pick number 61, however, Dan Kadar thinks they might look at an offensive lineman. What are your thoughts on this mock draft and the Colts' approach in the second round in general?
