This won't come as much of a surprise to those who follow the Colts and punter Pat McAfee, but McAfee will be debuting his own stand-up comedy show this summer at the Palladium in Carmel on July 11, called "Pat McAfee: Uncaged."
McAfee announced the news on twitter yesterday (fitting when considering how active he is on social media):
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Pat McAfee: Uncaged Stand-up comedy special 18+ July 11th <a href="https://twitter.com/CarmelPalladium">@CarmelPalladium</a> Tickets on sale Friday Portion of proceeds 2 <a href="https://twitter.com/thepmacfound">@thepmacfound</a></p>— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) <a href="https://twitter.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/603317716045332480">May 26, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
As McAfee notes, a portion of the proceeds are going to the Pat McAfee Foundation, which provides scholarship assistance to sons and daughters of active United States military members. Also note that McAfee says the show is for those 18 years old and older, likely meaning that there could be some language and material that is inappropriate for younger children (in other words, this isn't the time to bring your kids to see McAfee and get an autograph). Tickets for the event go on sale Friday.
McAfee revealed to RTV6 that he will be the first-ever active NFL player to do a stand-up comedy special. It's likely to be a success, considering his popularity in the community and his humor. He's very involved and you'll hear that humor a number of places, whether it's during his appearances on NFL Network, on the Bob and Tom Show, during routine interviews, on twitter, or other places. Now, you'll be able to see the legitimately-funny McAfee doing his own stand-up comedy show, as "Pat McAfee: Uncaged" will be coming to the Palladium in Carmel this July.
