The 2015 NFL Draft concluded on Saturday, and that means that those players who went undrafted are looking to sign with teams. For the Indianapolis Colts, they will hold their rookie minicamp this weekend, and they will have an number of those undrafted rookies taking part.
The team announced today that they have agreed to terms with 15 undrafted free agents:
Bryan Bennett, QB, SE Louisiana
Quan Bray, WR, Auburn
Donald Celiscar, CB, Western Michigan
Cody Galea, LB, San Diego State
Terrell Hartsfield, LB, Cincinnati
Zachary Hodges, LB, Harvard
Joshua Mitchell, CB, Nebraska
Ezell Ruffin, WR, San Diego State
Al-Hajj Shabazz, CB, West Chester
Jean Sifrin, TE, University of Massachusetts
Justin Sinz, TE, Purdue
Robert Smith, S, Clemson
Junior Sylvestre, LB, Toledo
Tyler Varga, RB, Yale
Brandon Vitabile, C, Northwestern
We will have a more in-depth look at these undrafted free agents later this week as we approach the rookie mini-camp, but these are the 15 players that the Colts have agreed to terms to. When also factoring in the veteran players already under contract and then the draft picks (who haven't yet signed contracts), the Colts' roster would stand at 90 players, the offseason maximum, for the first time this offseason.
Of course, more change is still coming, as the team will also have some players in on a tryout basis for the minicamp, and depending on how players do we could see more cuts and signings after the weekend. And throughout the summer as well, not all of these players will be secure in a roster spot. But they've taken the next step to making an NFL roster by agreeing to terms with the Colts.
