Now that the draft is over, the 2015 NFL season can't get here soon enough. We now know the majority of the impact players that will be on the team both in training camp and in the regular season, and so now it's just time to wait.
As we wait, however, let's take a look at some early, post-draft power rankings to see what the current feeling is about the Indianapolis Colts.
NFL.com's Elliot Harrison has the Colts ranked fifth - but his very early Super Bowl 50 prediction is Packers vs. Colts:
Ugh. Well, your hack writer thought the Colts would get a defensive stud in the first round to support his Super Bowl 50 prediction. Nope. GM Ryan Grigson went all Best Player Available on us and took speedy wideout Phillip Dorsett. He'll need to do something -- despite the fact that production could be limited, given Indy's truckload of targets -- or everyone will complain about a club this close not drafting a guy who can club running backs coming through the hole. DE Henry Anderson, a third-round selection, must get it going quickly ... like Week 1.
CBS Sports' Pete Prisco has the Colts ninth:
They have more speed outside than almost any tam in the league with the addition of Philip Dorsett. Expect a lot of shootouts. It will be fun to watch.
Miami Colts? Andrew Luck will be surrounded with Hurricanes in 2015. The Colts drafted Miami WR Phillip Dorsett after adding Frank Gore and Andre Johnson this offseason.
FOX Sports ranks the Colts sixth:
The Colts failed to address their glaring need this offseason — offensive and defensive line depth — until their third-round draft selection. Although this team continues to add playmakers, the skill positions have not been the reason for their failure to take the next step.
The Colts are still near the top in these power rankings, and while there are a lot of people who don't really like the team's draft nor their selection of Phillip Dorsett in the first round, the Colts still have Andrew Luck, and as long as that's the case, we can expect to see Indy near the top of these power rankings.
