In a fitting end to this Fourth of July holiday weekend, the United States Women's National Soccer Team won the 2015 World Cup by defeating Japan 5-2. Carli Lloyd had a hat trick to lead the U.S. to victory, and they jumped out to a 4-0 lead before anyone had a chance to realize just what was happening. And from that point on, the U.S. held on to win their first World Cup since 1999. Lauren Holiday, who is from Indianapolis and went to Ben Davis High School, also had a goal for the U.S.
The Indianapolis Colts and their players took to twitter today to express their support and congratulations to the U.S. Women's National Team on the big win.
