We're just moments away from kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, as the Colts take on the Eagles in the preseason opener. There are a number of inactives for the game, as teams won't rush injured players back for a simple preseason game - and the first one, at that.
Here are the Colts' inactives:
Donte Moncrief, wide receiver (groin)
T.Y. Hilton, wide receiver (personal reasons)
Darius Butler, cornerback (groin)
Vontae Davis, cornerback (groin)
Vick Ballard, running back (hamstring)
Donald Celiscar, cornerback
Jeris Pendleton, defensive lineman
Tevin Mitchel, cornerback (shoulder)
Robert Mathis, outside linebacker (Achilles)
Donald Thomas, offensive lineman (quad)
Those are the players who won't be participating today, but just because they're missing today's game doesn't mean that their injuries are bad but rather just emphasizes that teams won't rush it in the preseason. For example, Ballard was back at practice on Thursday and Friday but the Colts are taking it slowly. Furthermore, Moncrief had said on the radio earlier in the week that he would play Sunday, but obviously he's not - again, the Colts are taking things slow.
