Finally, after a long offseason, Indianapolis Colts football is set to return. The team will travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills in the regular season opener this Sunday afternoon.
The Colts finished the preseason 1-3, but as we all know that means next to nothing. The team went out and added several key players this offseason, such as Andre Johnson, Frank Gore, Trent Cole, Kendall Langford, and others, and that has added to the expectations for the team. And those expectations are incredibly clear: this team has the potential to reach and win the Super Bowl. The Colts have their sights set on the Lombardi Trophy, and while there are plenty of question marks, the presence of Andrew Luck at quarterback makes those goals seem plausible.
That's the end goal for the 2015 season for this team, but the start is this Sunday in week one. Cornerback Greg Toler and running back Vick Ballard won't play, as they've been ruled out, while outside linebacker Robert Mathis and cornerback D'Joun Smith are both questionable.
The Colts will look to get the season started off the right way with a win, but it won't be easy, as they're going on the road to face a Bills team that boasts one of the league's best defenses, one of the league's best running backs, and an exciting new head coach.
