Report: Colts to interview three offensive line coaches

According to FOX Sports' Alex Marvez, the Colts will interview three offensive line coaches for an apparent opening: John Benton, Pat Flaherty, and Chris Foerster.

The Indianapolis Colts have already undergone massive changes in regards to their coaching staff, but they might not be done yet either.  Yesterday, FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo noted that the Colts might change offensive line coaches, as one of their current coaches has an expiring contract and the other could be fired.

Today, FOX Sports' Alex Marvez took it one step further by saying that the Colts will interview three people for the offensive line coach opening, giving an even stronger indication that the Colts are changing that area of the coaching staff as well.  The Colts have not confirmed any changes to their offensive line coaches, but according to Marvez, the Colts will interview the Dolphins' John Benton, the Giants' Pat Flaherty, and the 49ers' Chris Foerster as potential offensive line coach candidates.  As of right now, the Colts have not announced anything regarding the status of current offensive line coaches Joe Gilbert or Hal Hunter, but the reports from FOX Sports seems to strongly indicate that one or both of them might not be back.

John Benton has been the Dolphins offensive line coach for the past two seasons, but with Miami bringing in a new coaching staff he is expected to be available.  He has 29 years of experience in coaching both college and NFL football, and before his time in Miami he was the offensive line coach for the Houston Texans for eight seasons (2006-2013).  He also spent two seasons before that working with the Rams' offensive line (2004-2005).

Pat Flaherty was with the Giants for Tom Coughlin's entire tenure in New York (2004-2015), coaching the offensive line there for 12 seasons.  He has more than 35 years of coaching experience at the NFL and college ranks, and before his time with the Giants he coached tight ends for the Bears and Redskins.

Chris Foerster just finished his first season as the 49ers' offensive line coach but, like Benton and Flaherty, was a part of a staff that will now be looking for another job due to the firings of head coaches.  Before the 2015 season with San Francisco, Foerster spent five years with the Washington Redskins coaching their offensive line (2010-2014).  He was the offensive line coach of the 49ers for two seasons before that (2008-2009) and was also with the Baltimore Ravens in the same position from 2005-2007.  He was the offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins in 2004, the tight ends coach for the Indianapolis Colts from 2002-2003, and offensive line coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996-2001 (meaning he spent eight seasons coaching under Tony Dungy).  He was also the assistant offensive line coach and tight ends coach for the Minnesota Vikings from 1993-1995.
