The Indianapolis Colts lead the Tennessee Titans 17-13 at halftime, and the play on the field actually wasn’t even as close as the score indicates.
Andrew Luck and Indy’s offense had a terrific first half, as Luck completed 13 of 19 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns for a passer rating of 140.2. T.Y. Hilton caught four passes for 90 yards and a touchdown, while the offensive line gave Luck plenty of time to throw. The unit accounted for 247 yards, 17 points, and averaged eight yards per play against a top-ten defense.
But defensively, the Colts didn’t play as great. After a dominant opening drive touchdown the Titans offense went cold and Marcus Mariota missed some passes, but then at the end of the first half they mounted another impressive drive (aided by a big pass interference penalty on T.J. Green) and got a big score heading into halftime.
Overall, this might have been the best half the Colts have had all season, but we were saying that last week as well and we all know how that one ended. So it’s important that the Colts continue to play well in the second half, and getting the ball to start the second half is a key element of that. Here’s your open thread for the second half of today’s game.
