Earlier this season, we put up a poll at the quarter mark asking fans to vote on whether they approve or disapprove of the job that Chuck Pagano is doing as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
The results were predictable: of a couple of thousand people who voted, an overwhelming 94% of you said that you disapproved of the job Pagano was doing leading the Colts, who were 1-3 at the time.
This approval poll is something we hope to do at each quarter mark of the season, and while the halfway point for the Colts was officially last week, we saved the poll for this week since it’s the bye week. So this is your chance to vote on whether you approve of the job Pagano is doing, and it will be interesting to compare to see whether things have changed.
Just to recap, here’s how things have gone since the last poll (with the record of the opponent in parenthesis:
Week 5: Won 29-23 over Chicago Bears (2-6)
Week 6: Lost 23-26 at Houston Texans in overtime (5-3)
Week 7: Won 34-26 at Tennessee Titans (4-5)
Week 8: Lost 14-30 to Kansas City Chiefs (6-2)
Week 9: Won 31-26 at Green Bay Packers (4-4)
As you can tell, the past month-plus has been very back and forth, as the Colts have actually alternated results for their last eight games, ever since losing back-to-back to begin the season. Since then, the team has alternated wins and losses each week, and the second quarter of the season saw a good win at Lambeau Field and the team’s first divisional win, but it also saw their worst performance of the season (against the Chiefs) and a crushing and embarassing collapse in a loss to the Texans.
So at the bye week, the Colts sit at 4-5 and are in second place in the AFC South. The season is far from over, but they’ll need to build off of their most recent win to make a second half push. At this point, however, what’s your feeling about Chuck Pagano nine games into his fifth season with the Colts? Vote now and let your voice be heard!
