Thanksgiving Day games open thread

NFL: Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Thanksgiving, Colts fans!

Obviously as you know the Colts play tonight against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 8:30 and we’ll definitely have an open thread for that game, but this afternoon there are two interesting matchups too.

The Detroit Lions (6-4) host the Minnesota Vikings (6-4) at 12:30 in the early game, which is actually a key NFC North matchup between two good teams, so that one carries some intrigue with it. The second game does as well, as the Dallas Cowboys (9-1) host the Washington Redskins (6-3-1) at 4:30 in a key NFC East matchup.

So of the four teams playing this afternoon, three of them are currently projected to be in the playoffs (the Cowboys and Lions as division champs and the Redskins as a wild card), while the other (the Vikings) would be the first one out of the NFC playoff race. that’s a pretty good holiday slate of games, for sure!

So if you’re going to be hanging out watching the games this afternoon, consider this an open thread to discuss what’s going on as we await tonight’s game. And again, Happy Thanksgiving, and I hope you enjoy the day with loved ones.
