Adam Vinatieri shares special moment with his brother right before Thanksgiving game

NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The holidays are about family, and hopefully many of you reading this were able to spend some time with loved ones celebrating Thanksgiving this past week. Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri was able to do so, and he was able to share a special moment with his brother before Thursday night’s game.

Vinatieri’s brother, Beau, is a member of the United States Armed Forces and has been stationed in Kuwait recently. He returned home just in time for Thanksgiving, however, and so he was in attendance with a number of members of the Vinatieri family:

Getting the chance to play in front of his family and especially his brother on Thanksgiving night would have been cool enough, but he shared an even cooler moment with Beau right before the game. The Colts do a pretty great national anthem at a number of home games as they unfurl a flag that spans the entire length of the field, and they have military members hold the flag while some players join in. So on Thursday night, Beau was one of the military members who was holding the flag before the game and Adam stood right by him.

It was a really cool moment for Adam Vinatieri and his brother, and it was awesome to see before the game on Thanksgiving night. Adam missed his only field goal attempt of the night (from 52-yards out), but that doesn’t take away from how special the pre-game moment was between brothers.
