The Indianapolis Colts played on Thursday night and lost 28-7 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, so they won’t be in action today. They actually have a long break in-between games as they don’t play again until next Monday night, meaning that they will have some time off and some time to get healthy.
Just because the Colts aren’t playing doesn’t mean that the NFL stops, however, as there’s a full day of NFL action today that will interest a number of fans. Here’s today’s schedule:
1:00 p.m. ET
Tennessee Titans at Chicago Bears (CBS)
Jacksonville Jaguars at Buffalo Bills (CBS)
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (CBS)
Arizona Cardinals at Atlanta Falcons (FOX)
New York Giants at Cleveland Browns (FOX)
Los Angeles Rams at New Orleans Saints (FOX)
San Francisco 49ers at Miami Dolphins (FOX)
San Diego Chargers at Houston Texans (CBS)
4:05 p.m. ET
Seattle Seahawks at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (FOX)
4:25 p.m. ET
New England Patriots at New York Jets (CBS)
Carolina Panthers at Oakland Raiders (CBS)
8:30 p.m. ET
Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos (NBC)
There are a number of intriguing matchups, but the one that should catch the attention of Colts fans the most is the game game between the Texans and the Chargers. The Colts are in trouble of missing the playoffs for the second straight season, and in order to extend their season they’re likely going to have to win the AFC South. The Texans currently lead the division and have the tiebreaker over Indy, so the Colts need the Texans to lose as much as possible in order to have the best shot of making the playoffs. Another matchup to note in the AFC South standings is the Titans vs. Bears game, as if the Titans can beat Chicago they will re-take second place in the division from the Colts (though Indy holds the tiebreaker).
Whatever happens, consider this an open thread to discuss today’s NFL action.
