In a rare move that actually allows players to be personable, creative, and have a bit of fun, the NFL is relaxing their uniform policy a bit this week to allow for custom cleats for players.
The NFL, which has been known to be a stickler at times for uniform policy, is allowing players to wear custom cleats in week 13 that support charitable efforts that matter to them as part of the My Cause, My Cleats campaign. The idea is to allow players to select a charity that means something special to them and wear custom cleats to raise awareness for that charity, and then after the games are over the cleats will be auctioned off, with 100% of the proceeds going to the organizations the cleats were in support of.
It’s a cool idea, and a number of Colts players are going to take part in it. The team released a gallery on their website showcasing 27 different pairs of cleats, so head here to check out what they look like. Below is a list of the players and charities that will be supported by Colts players through the My Cause, My Cleats effort, which includes 27 Colts players. There may be more who do so, but these are the ones the Colts included in their online gallery.
