The Indianapolis Colts are playing on a short week this week as they will play the Oakland Raiders on Saturday, with it being Christmas Eve, and that meant that today’s practice was actually the second of the week for Indy.
The Colts had the day off on Monday (it’s typically Tuesday) before they returned to the practice field yesterday, but they didn’t have to release an official injury report for Tuesday’s practice. So today’s the first real injury report of the week with the game coming in just a couple of days, and overall it’s pretty positive news for the Colts.
The only player who missed today’s practice for injury reasons was depth outside linebacker Chris Carter, as the other four guys to miss practice entirely just had rest days. Four key guys were limited, but that’s encouraging news for the most part. Donte Moncrief and Joe Reitz both missed this past Sunday’s game with injuries, so the fact that they were back in any capacity today is encouraging. Andrew Luck was limited like he normally is on Thursdays (since today’s practice was essentially like a normal Thursday practice), as he was limited with his right shoulder issue. He also was listed with a right thumb injury, which is the cut he suffered on Sunday that had him wearing a glove for a part of the game. And then Rashaan Melvin, who was injured in Sunday’s game, was limited with a knee injury.
Denzelle Good also returned to practice as a full participant, which is good news after he’s missed the past two games with a concussion. As of yesterday he still hadn’t cleared the protocol, but the fact that he was a full participant today is a good sign that he’s getting close to clearing it.
Here’s the full practice report for the Colts today:
