The Colts will be getting to New Jersey a bit later than expected before their game against the Jets there tomorrow night. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Colts’ plane had mechanical issues that has them on a two-plus hour delay.
It's not just you: Colts team plane to NJ for Monday night game just arrived in Indy, is now on a two-plus-hour delay. Mechanical issues.

The wording of Schefter’s tweet leaves some ambiguity, as it’s unclear whether the plane was arriving in Indianapolis to fly the Colts to New Jersey or whether the plan was already en route to New Jersey with the team when they had to turn around. So it’s unclear what the specifics are, but what we do know is that the plane landed in Indy and is now grounded due to mechanical issues, meaning that the team is delayed two-plus hours in getting to their destination.
Obviously the most important thing is to get whatever issues there are resolved, as that’s not something to mess with. The football aspect of things rightly falls after that, so however long it takes to fix the issues is worth it in the long run. But it’s fair to wonder how this impacts the Colts’ plans for when they arrive, as teams normally have meetings and other things going on that this could delay. They surely will be able to be flexible and work around the delay in travel, however, but it’s just another example of how things aren’t really going right for the Colts this year. Again, though, the most important thing is to get those mechanical issues taken care of.
UPDATE: Schefter later tweeted that it was a four hour delay and that it will change the Colts’ schedule for tonight, but that the team is finally on their way.
After a flight delay of over four hours, which will change their itinerary tonight, Colts finally are boarding their flight for NJ and MNF.
