The big event when it comes to NFL scheduling will take place tonight, as the league will unveil its 2016 schedule and we will find out the Colts' schedule. We already know the team's preseason schedule (which was released last week), but though the schedule was announced, the dates and times had not yet been finalized.
Now, according to Colts.com's schedule page, it appears the dates and times for the Colts' five preseason games in 2016 have been decided. So here's the Colts' official preseason schedule complete with all of the information needed:
Hall of Fame game: vs. Green Bay Packers (Canton, Ohio), Sunday, August 7, 8:00 p.m. (ESPN)
Week 1: at Buffalo Bills, Saturday, August 13, 7:00 p.m. (FOX59)
Week 2: Baltimore Ravens, Saturday, August 20, 7:00 p.m. (FOX59)
Week 3: Philadelphia Eagles, Saturday, August 27, 7:00 p.m. (CBS4)
Week 4: at Cincinnati Bengals, Thursday, September 1, 7:00 p.m. (FOX59)
The Colts, of course, will play five preseason games this year rather than the traditional four because they will be playing in the Hall of Fame game. It makes total sense, as Marvin Harrison and Tony Dungy are going into the Hall of Fame for the Colts and Brett Favre for the Packers, but it means an extra preseason game - and an earlier training camp start date. As for the rest of the preseason schedule, it's about normal - the Bengals are still the opponent in the fourth preseason game, and this year Colts fans will get to watch the second and third games at Lucas Oil Stadium (the games where the starters typically play the most). One other note, as you can see, if you're out of the Indianapolis market, the Hall of Fame game is the only nationally televised preseason game for the Colts this year, with the others being televised locally either on FOX59 or CBS4.
So as we anticipate and get ready for the regular season schedule tonight, we at least now have the details on the Colts' preseason schedule now - something I'm sure you all were very eagerly awaiting.
