A number of NFL teams are announcing their training camp schedules, including the Green Bay Packers - who will face the Indianapolis Colts in the Hall of Fame game and are thus eligible to begin camp early. Though the Colts can begin camp earlier than everyone but the Packers, they haven’t yet released their training camp schedule.
When the Colts broke mini-camp earlier this month, they mentioned July 26 as the date they would be starting training camp, but we didn’t have that confirmed nor did we have any other details. We now have a few more details, though the full schedule hasn’t been released quite yet.
According to Colts.com’s Kevin Bowen, Colts Up Close aired a few of the notable camp dates last night. The report date for the players is Tuesday, July 26, while the first day of practice is Wednesday, July 27. The Colts will break camp on Thursday, August 11.
It won’t be a very long training camp for the Colts, then, as it would be just over two weeks at Anderson University. Camp would also span just one preseason game, as the Colts play the Packers on August 7 in Canton, Ohio and then would break camp the following Thursday before traveling to Buffalo for an August 13 matchup with the Bills.
We’ll keep you updated on the full schedule when it’s released, and then once camp rolls around we’ll have complete coverage live from Anderson. Be encouraged, Colts fans - training camp isn’t too far away!
